We were at the 24th International Home & Garden Show at the International Centre in Mississauga and we were lucky enough to be right across from the Celebrity Stage! We had the chance to listen to great home experts such as Shawn Monteith, Jackie Morra and Lynn Spence.
After we managed to drag ourselves away from the stage we toured the Show’s halls, tried out new products, chatted up a few contractors and entered one too many contests (who can say no to a chance to win $5000 dollars?).
Here are a few of the International Home & Garden Show’s highlights:
In a prime location at the front of the show was the Ask a Decorator booth by the IDRC. At the booth you could ask for interior design and décor advice from certified interior decorators.
Another cool find was this hidden bed booth. Can you believe that nearly every piece you see here converts into a bed or desk?
Sunrise Windows & Doors wouldn’t share their Tim Bits with us, but they were happy to show off their gorgeous doors and windows!
Mmm, Tim Bits...
Reiner’s Originals created these cute leather ottomans. How can you say no to their little faces?
Just look at their silly little face.
Perma-wood Solariums created a very inviting display that we wished we could pack up and take home.
EcoLight demonstrated the many types, uses and benefits of LED lights. They had a great contest where you could win $1000 worth of LED lights.
Solatube showed off the effectiveness of their product, and we know some people that will be requesting a follow up home assessment for this nifty low-tech product!
It's a tube filled with light!
RBC launched their new MyProject card at the show. Note the $5000 cash prize, we really couldn’t say no to that or to the Plinko board. We have ALWAYS wanted to play with a Plinko board! We won, but only 10 more contest ballots. The MyProject card is a MasterCard that allows you to go 6 months without interest on any project you get approved for by a financial advisor.
Here’s a quick look at the Celebrity Stage that the celebrities used to showcase their work and demonstrate designs and ideas to the audience.
Just wrap it up and take it home with you.
The Garden show was in another hall and upon entering we were greeted by rows and rows of flower contest entries. Aren’t they simply gorgeous?
Landscape Out Loud (LOL) is a unique group of landscapers that have come together under one umbrella, creating a network of experts for any project you might have.
Vaughan Landscaping created a magnificent display complete with stone garden, waterfall and pergola.
Confederation Log Homes built a log home sans roof at the show. It had a wonderful fresh woodsy smell!
No garden show would be complete without outdoor seating. This beauty was so comfortable we almost fell asleep in it!
And here is a giant Muskoka chair… you know you want it.
